Civil Rights: Intro
The Marblehead Charter School is committed to providing a safe environment that promotes equal access to education and work opportunities for all adults and children regardless of: age, race, color, gender, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, qualifying disability or religion. Should an incident of discrimination, harassment or retaliation occur, the school system shall act promptly to investigate and take appropriate disciplinary, corrective and remedial action.
This section of the training module addresses the prevention of discrimination, harassment and retaliation of both students and staff members on the basis a person's:
- age
- race
- sex
- gender
- religion
- national origin/ancestry/ethnic background
- sexual orientation
- gender identity
- qualifying disability
- genetic information
- active military/veteran status
- marital status
- familial status
- homelessness
- pregnancy or pregnancy-related conditions
- or any other category protected by state or federal law
In addition, this section of the training module addresses the appropriate methods for responding to discrimination and harassment in the school setting.
