How to measure objectively:
  • Too many factors in category
  • If I was a student would the rubric help me make it
  • Need to be prioritize importance
  • Do different criteria need to be weighted differently
  • Language needs to be clear for your audience
  • Collaboration helps
  • Don't make criteria / descriptors too general or specific
  • Test the rubric; how do you do this before you've actually done the assignment
  • Inter-rater reliability
  • Fix gaping holes...in your rubric
  • Go back to the standards
