ASCD Conference-Pam sent out an email and will coordinate those who wish to go.
Charter School Accountability Plan-changes/corrections
Create and institutionalize steps for creating and making sure all students achieve their goals each year.
Each grade level will work with colleagues to produce at least 1 integrated unit each trimester (blah, blah, blah)
change parent survey question re exhibition
Non Renewals-Policy review to refine evaluation...earlier MAP meeting...discuss some sort of probationary period...being more definitive about expectations for teachers
Move-Up Day-each grade moves up for an hour....present summer reading list...expectations-mix up teams to make the meetings about the kids moving up and not the teachers at each grade level...if so, when?  Last day of school?  Kay and Molly will plan.
Summer School-Jed explained that summer school was originally for special ed but was expanded to include other struggling students.  4 weeks, 4 days a week (Tues-Friday) starting July 5-July 29...9:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. Jed said staff will be special educators and Nina expressed concern that there should be content specialists.  Should teachers be recommending students? 

If so what should the criteria be?
  • classroom performance
  • NWEA score
  • prior MCAS scores
Nina will send out an email to teachers requesting names of students who might be recommended for summer school.
